Irvine, California – June 22, 2010 – On the 92nd episode of Jason Hartman’s Creating Wealth Show, Pat Buchanan, a former candidate for the republican nomination, joins Jason Hartman in a conversation about the current economic condition and state of the government. Pat states, “we are not on the road to socialism, we are already there,” referring to government social programs, “they have compounded as of late and rarely recede from existence once enacted.”
During the podcast, Pat and Jason use California as an example of a state in jeopardy. “The producers are leaving and the tax consumers are flooding in; however, the tax burden remains on the productive sector, leaving the state in a constant deficit,” says Buchanan. He believes California will soon be similar to a third-world country in a sense that money will need to be pumped in from outside sources to fund its spending and the state afloat.
Not only is Buchanan concerned about California, he is worried about production in the United States altogether. Throughout the episode, Pat is outspoken regarding the disincentives created by our federal government to produce in the United States. During the episode he explains his idea that tariffs should be imposed on all imports into the United States, and in turn, it will lower the income tax level of earners in the United States on a dollar-for-dollar basis. He feels this method will create an incentive for corporations to keep or bring in new manufacturing to the United States. Pat Buchanan is a scholar, author and political expert.
