Thou Shalt Be Area Agnostic

Area Agnostic™? That’s a catchy little phrase and just happens to be part of Jason’s 10 Commandments of Successful Investing. Coming in at #7 is Thou Shalt Be Area Agnostic™.
What does that mean? In simple terms, don’t fall in love with one area or market. By now you know Platinum Properties Investor Network only recommends income property investments. It is proven to be history’s best investment with a track record that runs circles around Wall Street. We have 39 markets that we’re monitoring right now but, at any one time, probably only recommend buying in a dozen to maybe 15 of them.
Local real estate markets around the country are dynamic, fluid beasties that we can’t afford to fall in love with, lest they turn and bite us smartly on the backside. Just because Columbus, Ohio is a great place to buy an apartment building today doesn’t mean it will still be a great investment next year or in three years.
We crunch the numbers. We listen to our people on the ground who are talking to the local realtors and keeping a finger on the pulse of that market. That’s how we know the best places to buy no matter what name is plastered above the local chamber of commerce building.
Please, pay heed to commandment #7 and don’t develop an unhealthy fascination for a particular market. It could be hazardous to your investment health.
